El Duderino

The RWC crew may have blogged this already, but hey.

The word fuck is used 281 times in the movie but how about the word dude?

Genius.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Lego

Lego is the best toy ever! Fact! Some people go to extraordinary lengths just to have a bit of fun.

This Lego boulder is not a kit....

...and neither is this
real working (electronic) V8 engine made from Lego Technic. The maker completely designed and build it himself and it took about 4/5 months in total.

Mental.

I Feel the Passion in my Pit for Schleepy Heed

The RWC crew are totally digging this video and tune at the moment. A little reminiscent of Animal Collective, but dope none the less...

Vid for Sleepyhead from Passion Pit's debut EP Chunk Of Change, directed by The Wilderness.

Badass.

Jeff Soto Time Lapse

If you are a regular reader of this blog you probably know that the RWC are huge fans of Jeff Soto. Here's a time lapse clip of Jeff Soto working on "The Corruption Of Mankind", a 12' x 5' painting for his 2008 solo show at the Riverside Art Museum.

I think the RWC crew may have posted this next video before, but who cares, watch it again...

Deja- Vu: a straight 8 film by sandalz

Water Slide Mayhem

The RWC Crew have had a small fixation on water slides recently. From fantasy to redneck, water slides rule. Fact!

Redneck as...

Watch it all.

Stunt sliding.

Straight 8

The RWC crew have just returned from a showing of Straight 8 highlights. This is the simple idea behind Straight 8...

Straight 8 challenges you to make a 3 minute film on one cartridge of super 8mm cine film. You use the roll they send you and you send it back to them un-developed. So all edits and effects are made in-camera only. You then upload an original soundtrack and the first time you see your film - if it's great - is at one of our huge screenings, like at Cannes Film Festival. Mental!

The film can be about anything.

Here are a few samplers...

'I've Been Single Too Long' a straight a film by Shane Davey (2003)

'Jour de Gloires' a straight 8 film by Pascal Fillion (2003)

'Sticks and Balls' a straight 8 film by Jacqueline Wright and Alice Lowe (2007)

Rime, Pimp My Trailer

On May 22, 2008 a 50-something year-old woman by the name of Patty Mayo sent out a desperate plea over YouTube. Her cries echoed through cyber space, receiving over 8,000 hits in just 2 days. Her wish was simple: for her favorite graffiti artist, Rime aka Jersey Joe, to paint a peeing dog on the side of her trailer.

This was no ordinary trailer. During the last 10 years it has housed over 200 rescue dogs, abandoned and rescued, and is currently home to eight.

Touched by Patty's heartfelt message, Rime booked a flight and headed back to the armpit of America: New Jersey. Now for the first time the public is invited to witness the event unfold.

Music by Uncle Gary, Jay Ripper, beats from Mr. Green's album "Green Future," and from Fred Strife.

This explains it all. DONK!

I'm down with CCTV, Yeah you know me.

Based on it's relation with motion (time) this installation by artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer at Sydney Bienalle (2006) approaches light in a quiet intelligent and impressive way. Be sure to watch the whole video to get a description about what is actually going on here.
